History and Scope of Operations

Regional Transport Service, LLC is a contract motor carrier providing regional truckload service. Its corporate office is located in Olive Branch, MS. The company was founded by Robert G. Blanton. Mr. Blanton had for a long time dreamed of owning and operating his own trucking company and in October of 2002 that dream became a reality. It was the realization of another dream in 1999 that would eventually motivate him to step out on his own and reach for his dream. After nineteen years of marriage, he and his wife Cheryl were blessed with the birth of their daughter. His position as Director of Sales with a major trucking company required him to spend much of his time away from his family. In mid 2002, a late night phone call to his hotel room from a frustrated customer sparked the birth of Regional Transport Service. The customer, RAPAC, had made a decision a year prior to the phone call to shut down their private fleet,and they were experiencing plant shutdowns as a result. With the commitment of their business and a solid business plan, Mr. Blanton decided to find out just how good of a sales person he was. He met with a bank; they liked his plan, and in October of 2002 the company began operations with three used tractors and six leased trailers. Today they still move loads for RAPAC and have never allowed a plant to shutdown due to a lack of materials. Regional Transport Service now operates 22 power units and provides service to 38 states. In 2006, a sister company,RTS Logistics, was formed providing transportation brokerage to all 48 states. The combined revenues for the two companies exceeded three million dollars in 2007.
